New hires have 60 days from their start date to complete the requirements.

According to California law, you are an alcohol server if you do any of the following things:

You are a manager who must complete the requirements if you train, directly hire or oversee alcohol servers at an ABC licensed premises, or any person who trains alcohol servers to perform the service of alcohol for consumption for an ABC on-premises licensee, including but not limited to, when to check identification or when to refuse service to a patron.
